Nicole Goodwin is principal teacher and owner of BodyMindLife Yoga, and has been practicing yoga for over 12 years. Together with her husband Philip, Nicole established BodyMindLife Yoga in Surry Hills in 2002, hoping to share the profound health benefits she experienced through her own practice.
Previously from the corporate world, Nicole’s desire for a lifestyle that was more holistic and empowering led her to embark upon a life-changing journey, studying with prominent teachers around the world. Mel has been practicing, teaching, and experiencing all that meditation, yoga, and breathwork have to offer since a lengthy sojourn in India 11 years ago. She has trained with some of the world’s most respected teachers including Sivananda Yoga, Baron Baptiste, Nicole Goodwin, Duncan Peak, Twee Merrigan, and Marc St. Pierre. Mel also studied metaphysics with Paul Balch for a number of years and has been inspired to share the wisdom and knowledge she gained through these modalities by instructing yoga, guiding meditations, and offering dynamic energy workshops. Trained to Level Two in AcuEnergetics, this is also an ongoing journey for Mel.

Heather’s yogic journey began in 2002 after she attended a Bikram class and experienced yoga’s life-changing potential for the very first time. Since then Heather has transformed her life in many ways – quitting a successful 14-year career in state government, becoming a certified Power Vinyasa Yoga instructor, relocating to Australia, and completing a PhD at the University of New South Wales. Her doctoral thesis (“You are will to power and nothing besides: Nietzsche, Foucault, Yoga, and Feminist s/Self-Actualisation”) is a textual representation of her belief in yoga as a powerful tool for not only understanding the self but manifesting positive change in the world.

Murray (Muz) has been studying the art of yoga and its many facets for 15 years. He has practiced most styles/disciplines and has taught many. Continuous study throughout his career has given him tremendous knowledge and understanding of the human body. He teaches all BodyMindLife class levels from Level 1 Essentials classes to two-hour Advanced classes. Muz also runs numerous workshops and seminars, facilitates Teacher Training, and co-leads the Yoga Teacher Mentoring Program. He specialises in private one-on-one sessions which allow his students the freedom to find their own unique way of experiencing yoga. Whether assisting new students to find confidence in themselves, guiding an experienced yogi to the next level, or working with a specific injury; Muz caters for all.

Rachel has been passionate about health and fitness for as long as she can remember. All of the books in her bookcase pertain to nutrition, yoga, sport therapy, healing or spiritual development. Deepak Chopra, Eckhart Tolle and Paulo Coelho are some of her favourite authors. Oh, and there’s also one on sharks ... she loves surfing.
Her university years saw her complete a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physiotherapy and a Master of Medical Science Degree in Sports Medicine.
